Comprehensive Beginner Knitting

Tuesdays, Mar. 12, 19, & 26, and Apr. 2

10:30 AM- 12:15 PM

or Saturdays, Mar. 16, 23 & 30 and Apr.13

2:00 - 3:45 PM                                   Cost: $110

Students will learn: knit stitch, purl stitch, cast on, bind off, knitted ribbing, seed stitch, methods to increase and decrease stitches, basic troubleshooting and sewing a seam. You will use these skills to make simple fingerless mitts. This class is for anyone who has never knitted or wants a refresher on basic skills.

Knit Your First Hat

Tuesdays, March 19 & 26

1:00 to 4:00 PM                                    Cost: $90

You are confident with the knit and purl stitches; so what’s next? Class will cover reading a knitting pattern, knitting in the round on a circular needle, transferring the project to double point needles for the crown of the hat, closing the top, and weaving in the loose ends. These skills will give students the confidence to move on to more complicated hat patterns.     

“Architectural Hat” 

Fridays, March 15, 22 & 29

2:00 - 3:30 PM                                      Cost: $68

This hat, with a textured pattern created using only knit and purl stitches, looks great on women or men. The class is for advanced beginners who are confident in counting their knit and purl stitches, or knitters who are ready for the next step after taking the “Knit Your First Hat” class.                                                     

“Easy Goes It” Shawlette

Tuesdays, Apr. 16 & 30, and May 14

2:00 - 3:30 PM                               Cost: $75

Finished size is 56 x 10 inches. This lovely little neck warmer is simple enough for a committed newbie and pretty enough for anyone! It’s the perfect answer to the question, “What should I make with that single skein of DK yarn I fell in love with?”  

230 yards required. 

Fixing Mistakes 101

This is a single day class!           Cost: $30

Saturday, Mar. 2, 2:00 - 4:00 PM 

or  Monday, Mar. 18, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Participants will learn to identify which stitch was done in previous rows, spot  incorrect stitches, repair a dropped stitch, un-knit without twisting stitches, and more.

* All needed supplies can be purchased, and all classes meet, at Colorful Yarns.

* Anonrefundable deposit of $20 is required to reserve your seat in any class, payable by Venmo (@Amy-Grammer-2)  or cash or check dropped off at Colorful Yarns.

Learn to Crochet $65
Saturday, April 6 and Saturday, April 13, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
This two-day class is for beginners or anyone who wants a refresher on
basic crochet skills.
You will learn to: Create basic stitches, increase and decrease, change colors, read
patterns, and finish pieces.
You’ll use these skills to create a striped, two-color scarf.
* Materials are not included but can be purchased from Colorful Yarns before
or day of class.

Crochet Workshop $35 per class
Saturday, April 20 | Saturday, May 11 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM
This class is for those who need help with a special technique, a specific pattern, or
a specific stitch. Sign up for one or sign up for all depending on the help you need.
Bring your own yarn, pattern, and questions to get help on anything you want.
If you need help finding a specific pattern, let me know before class starts!

or day of class.
